This course explores the 4 aspects of Visual Art: Production, Aesthetics, History/Culture and Criticism
Students will learn how people have used ceramics in their lives, culture and current events for centuries and how the ideals of this search have changed over time. We will explore the work of others with an aesthetic, historical and critical eye.
A pocket folder with brads is required, that will be used to keep sketch ideas, photos, handouts, contracts and evaluations. The following is required and due at the end of each quarter. No project will be started without a design.
2. Photos for project ideas and development. Print internet copies of various surface applications and treatments – Select images of color schemes, patterns, texture & design. You can go on line and subscribe and check out Ceramics Daily
3. Handouts – information that I give you for various projects
4. Evaluation sheets and reflection for each project.

* Sketches MUST be approved before project work begins! 1st Quarter - Journal page illustrations and definitions of the Elements and Principles of Design. Grades based on demonstration of understanding and CREATIVITY. Quarter activities can run into the next quarter. Be sure to meet your deadlines. |
